Introduction to Metal

I know most of you can't stand metal musics. But don't shove it right away without listening to them. Chances are, there are some that you may like. I don't like pop and crappy love songs, but sometimes there are good ones that reaches my ears (cant help it with them constantly playing everywhere). So, in promoting this type of music, i'm gonna open your ears to one of the genre in metal that is not gonna break your eardrums.

The genre is called Symphonic power metal, or i just call it symphonic metal. Like all metal genre, it still got double bass drum beat and guitar riffs. However it separates itself from heavy and power metal by extensively using keyboards and sometimes violin or other classical musical instruments. The vocal uses his/her normal voice and the growling or screaming is mostly done by the backup vocal.

Two of currently prominent symphonic metal bands are Nightwish and Kamelot.

Here's Nightwish: "Bye Bye Beautiful"

If you are still confused, the only real member at the beginning is the singer, and yes the singer is a woman (a hot one in fact). Oh, and if you catch a glimpse of the keyboardist tell me he doesn't look like Vendetta.

Now here's Kamelot: "Ghost Opera"

I really like his voice. It blends perfectly with the rhythm and tone of the music.

If you like both of them, just Google them. Hopefully this will make you appreciate metal more than before.
